Falling Asleep While Meditating

I love listening to guided meditations at night before I fall asleep.  It gets me in this deeply relaxed state.  I usually end up falling asleep during the meditation.  Some may worry, “Oh no! It won’t ‘work’ if I fall asleep.”

I think “Oh Yay, ultimate multi-tasking AND I sleep better!”

When I taught Hypnobabies I would suggest to moms to listen to their MP3 at night when falling asleep if it helped them fall asleep.  If their MP3 made them feel energized I suggested setting an alarm to wake up earlier and then listening in the morning and when the script was over, they were ready for the day.

We have this natural time of day when we are in a relaxed state – falling asleep and waking up.  Why not harness that time of day?  It is OK if you fall asleep, however if you need to be somewhere at a certain time, set a timer!  I learned that the hard way, when I thought I would take a nap while listening.  I was a little late to carpool that day.  😉

Today:

Sing “I am a Child of God” and imagine the steps of grounding and shielding as you sing!

Then set your timer and

Using your finger movements

Breathe in Peace & Calm

Pause (2,3,4)

Breathe out and Smile

Pause (2,3,4)

Repeat until your timer dings!
