Freely Receive and Give

I started going to church when I was 15 and was baptized when I was 18.  I was the only member in my family.  Then I headed on a mission to France when I was 21.  I remember at a challenging part of my mission wondering if anyone was praying for me.  I knew all my companions had family praying for them, did I have anyone praying for me?  I needed all the help I could get.

Then I got a package in the mail from Kimberly.  She was the friend who introduced me to the church when I was 15.  She had sent me a bracelet I think.  But what I remember clearly in her letter was she said she was praying for me.  I cried tears of joy.  I longed for those prayers and I freely received them.

I LOVE to give prayers for others.  When someone needs a prayer I add them to my prayer cheat sheet and I pray for them every day.  I give prayers willingly and freely, because I know they are powerful and I love to tell people I am praying for them, because they may need to hear that.

Matthew 10:8 “Freely ye have received, freely give”
