As I look back over the past year, I wanted to share some of the little things (and a few big ones!) that have brought extra light, comfort, or just plain convenience to my days. These aren’t necessarily life-changing in the dramatic sense, but each one has genuinely made my everyday routines smoother or a little more joyful. I love reading lists like these from others, so here’s mine—maybe you’ll discover a new favorite, too!
Laundry Turtle Magic
Let’s start with a gadget I wish I’d had years ago: the Laundry Turtle! If, like me, you struggle to get clothes from your front-load washer into the dryer (ours is in a tight spot), this clever scoop makes it SO much easier. I honestly use mine several times a week, and it never fails to make me smile. If your laundry process could use a bit of magic, check it out.

Comfort on the Go: Butt Pads
Yes, you read that right—“butt pads!” These were designed for hiking and camping, but I mostly use them at church and anywhere with hard seats. They fold up small, fit right in my church bag, and turn even the hardest bench into a comfortable seat. Bonus: they’re perfect for hiking breaks too. One of those simple things that makes a big difference!

Artful Agenda Digital Planner
If you’re a digital calendar person but love a little color and beauty, Artful Agenda is a total winner. I don’t really use the stickers, but I love how organized and easy it is. After three years, it’s hands-down my favorite planner. I even did a podcast episode about it—so if you’re planner-curious, check that out.

Most Helpful Book: “Let Them”
I wanted to mention a book that shifted my thinking last year: “Let Them.” It’s all about focusing on what you can actually control, letting go of the rest, and releasing those heavy expectations. Such a freeing, empowering read!

Writing with Pentel Pens
Can we talk about pens for a second? I am so picky, and Pentel EnerGel pens (especially the colorful ones) are my absolute favorites. They’re smooth, vibrant, and refillable—so I never have to throw out a pen again. All my other pens have pretty much been abandoned!

Human Design Exploration
Diving into Human Design has added a fascinating layer to my relationships and my own growth. I’m still a beginner, but learning and applying its principles has been surprisingly transformative. If you’re curious, I have some resource links and am now certified to do sessions!
Calm Magnesium Chews
Calm magnesium chews have become a bedtime staple at our house. They help with sleep and regularity, and honestly, they work better for me than any other magnesium I’ve tried. Highly recommend if you need a gentle sleep support!

Game Night Fun with Toil and Troublez
We love trying new games as a family, and Toil and Troublez has become a favorite. It’s simple enough for chatting and snacking, but challenging enough to keep everyone interested. If you’re building your game collection, this one’s a fun addition.

Space-Saving Kleenex Box Holder
Sometimes it’s the little things—like a Kleenex box holder that lets you stack stuff on top. Who knew? It’s made my bedroom table tidier and makes me weirdly happy every time I use it.

Keeping Tidy: “Don’t Put It Down, Put It Away”
This is more of a mindset shift than an item, but it’s been life-changing for keeping my home less cluttered. If you catch yourself about to set something down “just for now,” try putting it away instead. Tiny action, big impact.
Dinners Made Easy: Dinnerly
One of my happiest discoveries last year was Dinnerly meal kits. The meals are tasty, and best of all, I’ve happily delegated cooking to my husband and son. Find some sort of meal program to help with a meal or two a week!
Freezer Meal Favorites: Citrus Pear
On nights when I do cook, Citrus Pear freezer meals are my go-to. Dump, cook, done. They’re great for the Instant Pot or crockpot, and have saved us from many a drive-thru dinner.
Organizing Travel with TripIt
If you travel, even a little, TripIt App is a lifesaver. Just forward your confirmation emails, and it magically organizes your trips. It’s made vacation planning SO much easier and less stressful.
Personal Growth through Enneagram
Joining the Bold Nine coaching group for Enneagram type nines has been such a growth experience for me. If you want to understand yourself better and find a little extra support, I can’t recommend group coaching by your Enneagram type enough.
A Few Uncommon Finds
And for my “less common” favorites: knee scooters (for injury recovery), home remodeling adventures, and for any podcasters out there—the Descript editing program is a dream.
These are the small (and sometimes not-so-small) things that brightened my year and made daily life more enjoyable. If you want to hear more about them, listen to the podcast episode! I hope you discover something new to bring a little more ease or fun into your days, too!
Here’s to another year of everyday magic and discovery!
