Movements Connect Our Body and Mind

You can move big movements while meditating – like sweeping or hiking.  However often small movements are more convenient.

When we are intentionally moving it helps connect our mind and body.

I love to use Finger Touches.  It is easy and subtle.

Using 1 or both hands I touch my thumb to my pointer finger, then to my middle finger, than to my ring finger and then to my pinky and then I repeat.

There is power in including your body while you meditate.  It helps connect the body and mind.  It also creates a physical cue that teaches your body and mind to enter into a relaxed state.

By practicing this daily you are creating a powerful tool that can help your body mind and spirit to get your body immediately into a relaxed and present moment state.

I took Hypnobabies where I learned how to get myself into an instant state of hypnosis, using a physical cue with my fingers.  The intent was to use it during my birth.  However I found it helpful throughout my life!  I know that including these finger touches in your practice can give you a life long tool too.    It takes practice to develop this tool, but once they have learned it, it is yours!

If I am in a stressful situation and I can’t just go find a quiet place to meditate, I will start moving my fingers this way and focus on my breath.  It calms me almost instantaneously.

I highly suggest clicking through to the blog today to watch a sample video to SEE what I am talking about.  It is hard to explain only through writing.
