One of the first times I went to a Yoga class my teacher said something like, “Your breath is your best friend. It will always be there for you. Learn to love it and honor it and harness its power.”
This concept changed my life. I had never thought of my breath before. I breathe around 25,000 times a day, but I never think about it. At least I didn’t used to.
Now that I know and honor this powerful friend – my breath – I spend time every day focusing on her. With practice I have learned to harness her power and she is there at any moment when I need her to help me calm down or to bring me energy.
What a gift God has given to us!
Today:
Breathe in Peace & Calm — Breathe out and Smile for 8 seconds to 1 minute.
Think about your breath throughout today. Express appreciation for your lungs and your respiratory system and your breath. Your NEW best friend!
Set a timer for 2 hours and when it goes off. Breathe in Peace & Calm — Breathe Out and Smile. Then set your timer again to do it later in the day.
