Timers are amazing. I use them for so many things, my friends make fun of me. They say I am a “prolific user of timers”
- I use them for phone calls when I know I have limited time.
- I use them to help get me motivated to clean.
- I use them to motivate my kids to get things done.
- I use them when I go to visit people. I will tell the person I am visiting, “I need to set my alarm for 30 minutes because I will need to leave and don’t want to be distracted by the clock.” This allows me to not be checking the time every few minutes and really be present. Because the alarm will let me know when it is time to go.
Using timers when you meditate helps your mind to let go of the time aspect and just relax and enjoy the moment.
Today:
Pick a time, at least 1 minute, you want to meditate for. Set a timer and then start.
Using your finger movements
Breathe in Peace & Calm
Pause (2,3,4)
Breathe out and Smile
Pause (2,3,4)
Repeat until your timer dings!
Tomorrow I will share a meditation timer I love.
