Sometimes we may feel trapped in a relationship, or a place in time. I remember when I had Post-Partum Depression after T2 was born.
I felt like I was trapped in this weird place that was at its best, grey and sometimes dark and always overwhelming. I felt like the only way to escape would be to literally escape – run away and leave those 2 little boys, who were so demanding and I had so little to give.
I never did leave, I stayed and found other ways to be released. It was an emotional release that I needed. I needed hope. Luckily I found it when T2 was 9 months old. Suddenly the sun was shining again. It was weird, I hadn’t even realized how sad I had been.
Sometimes with teenagers at home, that trapped feeling comes back. Now I have a lot more tools to help me quickly move through and find peace and hope. Prayer is a key tool, as is breathing, meditating and shifting my thoughts. My favorite tool is the Light Switch. Which you can learn about here. https://enjoy-life1.teachable.com/p/light-switch
Are you feeling trapped? Learn the Light Switch tool and use it. Do you have a friend or family member feeling trapped? Pray for them, let them know you are praying for them!
