A New Choice Creates Chaos

Mothering, Personal Experiences / Sheridan

This is a continuation of our journey to Journey.  It is a post I originally wrote 4 years ago. So, I have never really been thrilled with the public school system. It seems so geared towards teaching to the test. There is not a lot of inspiration too many worksheets the classes are SO big!

All this talk about T2’s School is making me reminisce about Starting Journey School

Uncategorized / Sheridan

That was a long title!  I don’t think T2 would even be going to OCSA if he hadn’t gone to Journey School.  It was 4 years ago that I started my families journey to Journey. I blogged about it back then on my Enjoy Birth blog, but I thought I would repost those posts from

Will the Days be Too Long?

Mothering / Sheridan

The only other possible hiccup about OCSA is the long days. T2 leaves home at 7. The kids have normal school from 8-2. Then conservatory classes from 2:45-4:45.  Then they have to get home, which would be hopefully by 5:45. Then homework, youth activities, voice lessons and anything else extra.  That is a long day. Then

Car Pool Miracle

Mothering, Personal Experiences / Sheridan

T2 going to OCSA presented us with the challenge of having 3 boys in 3 different districts.  2 schools being around 30 minutes away in opposite directions. Interestingly both T2 and I felt like this would all somehow work out.  When I thought about it, I would get nervous.  So I tried not to think

I have 2 High Schoolers – How is that possible?

Mothering / Sheridan

T2 started OCSA yesterday.  OCSA is a Performing Arts Charter High School.  (Think FAME for all you people of the 80’s.)  It is tough to get into, you have to try out and only a fraction of the kids who try out are accepted. We were super excited when he got accepted.  There were 3

Birth Trauma made me Unable to Wear a Bra??

Energy Work, Parenting Tools / Sheridan

A few weeks into massage “therapy”  I started doing Yoga. Which is something I had wanted to try for YEARS.  Now I was choosing to and I loved it. My favorite class is the Gentle Restorative Yoga.  It really lets go of emotions, I usually cry a little and it is just freeing. I can’t

T3 – love his attitude and he isn’t so little anymore

Mothering, Parenting Tools / Sheridan

He had a week of soccer camp and really loved it. One afternoon I was a minute late picking him up and I walked up to the easy up where the coaches were and I only saw a big kid sitting by the tree. I was wondering where T3 was when it occurred to me,

Seeing my 14 year old as a 2 year old

Affirmations, Energy Work, Mothering, Parenting Tools / Sheridan

Valerie and Angela had wanted me to go to Pam’s  to “see if I had any issues”.  They both thought I was so balanced, so they were curious if anything would come up. I on the other hand, love massages.  I didn’t really think I needed therapy, but the massage sounded great.  I also wondered

Birth Trauma left me feeling Disconnected from my Family

Mothering / Sheridan

In my second session with Pam I discovered that I felt very disconnected to my family.  One reason why I loved being pregnant and breastfeeding is I was CONNECTED literally and that was so fulfilling.  It helped me feel connected emotionally too. Sudden and Forced Disconnection from Emergency Cesarean I discovered that this started with
